Sunday 10th June saw the first Surrey Wed Fest at the stunning Robert Denholm House in Nutfield (definitely check out this venue!) and the weather was definitely on our side!

Whilst walking round the wedding fair with a difference, I was blown away with the originality of the suppliers! From awesome wedding singers (ahem 😜) yummy cakes, photo booths with a difference, a pop up cinema, a magician, incredible tipi’s, beautiful flowers, a prosecco van (the dream), a vintage bar box to an insane replica of the back to the future car, there really was so much to see and be inspired by!

It was so lovely to chat to our future brides and grooms at my stand and entertain them throughout the day too!

So many couples don’t attend wedding fairs as they can be seen as a hassle but I think they are one of the best things to do when planning your wedding and here’s why....

8 reasons to attend a wedding fair

You’ll see things you hadn’t even considered

A pop up cinema? A prosecco / gin van? A silent disco? Did you even know these things existed, let alone were available for your big day? Wedding fairs showcase all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas that could be perfect for your big day!

You’ll find suppliers you might not have found on the internet

Chances are, when you google specific wedding suppliers you’ll find a list of them that either spend the most on promo or that are fantastic at creating a website that can be found by google - not necessarily the best option out there! Little businesses can be dwarfed by bigger companies but are equality as talented (sometimes more so) and can be cheaper! You’ll usually find these at wedding fairs so another reason to get to a few!

You get to chat to the suppliers

Websites are fantastic at getting the initial info across but nothing beats meeting face to face and getting to know your wedding supplier! At wedding fairs you get to chat to them in person about your needs and ask any questions you have all whilst seeing what kind of impression they give!

You might get special offers

This is pretty self explanatory! Wedding suppliers usually do a discount for bookings made from the wedding fair! Hello pennies saved (or more money to spend on the dress 😜).

You’ll get SO much inspiration

We’ve all planned a Pinterest wedding (don’t deny it!) but nothing beats seeing ideas in person. You will find so many suppliers from crafts, to decor, to everything in between who usually have an example of their product set up! You’ll see so much you hadn't thought of, or had thought you wanted until now!

Listen to live music

This is always fun isn’t it and you can hear what a singer / band sounds like live! And again, find those that haven’t come up on your google search!

The catwalk

Oh the catwalks... oh the dresses.... see all the latest trends modeled so beautifully! This is one of my favourite things about a wedding fair!

Free cake? Free prosecco? Getting to meet amazing suppliers and create your dream wedding? Count me in! Just don’t forget to wear flat shoes... there’s a lot of walking to do!
